Sittilingi is best reached from Chennai or Bangalore in South India.
From Bangalore the best way is to take a bus to Dharmapuri and then bus to Harur (travel time 1.5 hours - frequent buses) or train to Salem and then a bus to Harur. (It is also possible to take a bus from Salem to a Thumbal (there is a bus from Salem almost every hour via Thumbal), but buses from Thumbal to Sittilingi are less frequent - not the recommended route for first-timers).
